Setup Spotlight: The Bench We Test Everything On

To kick off Features, it is only fair we go first. This is the bench where every product in the store gets used before it gets listed, and it is a preview of what a setup feature here looks like.

The setup

Nothing precious about it. A monitor on a Command riser so the screen sits at eye level, keyboard sliding onto the shelf underneath when the desk needs to be a desk. The riser’s front ports carry the daily plugging: a drive, a charger, whatever sample we are poking at that week. Link cables handle the charging because we sell what we actually use.

What happens here

Every sample we order gets unboxed on this desk and lives here for a while. Cables get bent the lazy way around table legs. Risers get loaded with more weight than the listing suggests. Lamps stay on for full workdays. The products that annoy us never make it to the store, and the ones you can buy are the ones that stopped being noticeable, which is the highest compliment desk gear can get.
